Paralympics: Nigeria’s First Lady Congratulates Onyinyechi For Winning Gold

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has congratulated the country’s powerlifter, Onyinyechi Mark for winning Nigeria’s first gold at the 2024 Paralympics.

The powerlifter won gold in the 61kg category at the ongoing games in France.

She lifted 150kg to win gold, setting a new world record in the process.

In a message, the First Lady said “the entire womenfolk is happy with Onyinyechi’s achievement.”

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Onyinyechi Mark on winning the first gold medal at the Paralympics and setting multiple world records!

“Your incredible achievement is an inspiration that shows what can be accomplished with dedication, commitment, resilience and perseverance.

“You have not only made history but also paved the way for others to dream big and aim high.

“Nigeria is proud of you, we the womenfolk are more proud and I pray that you witness continued success and many more victories,” she said.

Nigeria has so far won gold, silver and bronze at the ongoing summer Paralympics.

It is expected that Nigeria’s contingent will win more laurels before the end of the competition on Sunday, September 8.
