The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Kwara State Council of Chiefs in North Central Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has urged the newly promoted police officers across the country to be rededicated to the unity and peaceful coexistence of the nation.
He stressed that it is only in the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that the nation can advance politically, economically and socially among the comity of nations globally.
According to him, Nigeria is on the verge of democratic advancement and needed more commitment and patriotism to sustain it.
The Emir spoke at a special prayer organised for the newly promoted police officers; AIG Yekini Adio, AIG Babatunde Ishola Babaita and CP Garba Dogo.
Others are the Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Barrister Mansur Alfanla, Registrar and the Provost of the Federal College of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Mallam Kassim Babamale and Professor Aishatu Ahmed Gobir respectively.
In a statement issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, he urged them to demonstrate their wealth of experiences as versatile and patriotic Nigerians of Ilorin Emirate origin to ensure equity, fairness and justice in their respective positions.
“You are our ambassadors and we shall continue to pray for you in the discharge of your duties to the people of Nigeria,” the Monarch added.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam-Soliu, who led other clerics in the special spiritual session, prayed that Almighty Allah grants them absolute protection and guidance to discharge their duties.
