The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has enjoined the women campaign group to galvanize votes for the party’s victory in the 2023 general election.

Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, said this was important as women constitute a major voting population in Nigeria.

He equally encouraged women more to attract votes and protect them at the polling units.

According to him, “Women are the most loyal party members, which is why PDP went to great lengths to make sure that women are encouraged and supported to participate actively in our democratic process and nation-building.”

The former vice-president was emphatic on the objective of setting up the Women Campaign Council to ensure active participation and talent hunt for Nigeria’s development.

“Women possess attributes that set them apart from the man, which makes them less corrupt.

“I am challenging the PDP women to provide that leadership by giving in 100% support to the party,” Atiku stated.

The national women leader of the PDP, Professor Stella Effa-Attoe, said the Women Campaign Council will serve as the bedrock and biggest chunk of votes for the presidential candidate and other elective positions at the 2023 general elections.
