The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Anambra State, Sir Jude Ezenwafor, has called on Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as a source of redemption from sin.
In his Easter message, Sir Ezenwafor emphasised the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing the moral decay in society and reinstating Christian values.
Delivering his message through his media aide, Mr. Nwafor Nwali, Sir Ezenwafor stressed the importance of collective effort in restoring ethical standards, particularly among the youth during this Easter celebration.
He stated, “all hands must be on deck to restore our Christian values and to guide our children on the path of holiness as we celebrate Easter today.”
Moreover, Ezenwafor urged Christian leaders to remain vigilant in prayer for the safety of the people of Anambra state, both at home and abroad.
“May God protect the lives of our people, especially during this time of insecurity,” he implored, encouraging citizens to hold onto hope, as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ provide salvation and redemption.
He noted that our daily lives reflect the abundant grace offered by God, highlighting the importance of gratitude for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which grants believers everlasting life beyond earthly existence.
Demonstrating his commitment to the Christian community, Ezenwafor has actively engaged with believers throughout the Lenten season. He urged all Christians to remain steadfast in faith, stating,
“We should trust in God as our Maker and reflect on the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with a sense of solemnity.”
In the spirit of Easter, the governorship hopeful also called on the community to extend their philanthropic efforts to those in dire need, particularly the less privileged.
He emphasised the importance of fostering a sense of belonging among all individuals during this festive season.
In closing, Sir Jude Ezenwafor reassured the people of Anambra State that their mandate would be secure under his leadership, expressing his gratitude for their support.
“We appreciate your cooperation, and we will not take your trust for granted,” he affirmed as he sought continued backing for his gubernatorial aspirations aimed at repositioning the state.
