A Chieftain of the opposition party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Daniel Bwala, has expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saying that his policies are people-centered.
Bwala also commended the President over the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, saying, that President Tinubu’s action was commendable.
The PDP chieftain told State House correspondents on Wednesday after closed-door talks with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The legal practitioner also said that the President’s directive on a 60 per cent reduction in the number of delegates on international and local trips addresses the increasing cost of governance.
“Some of President Tinubu’s Ministers that were allegedly reported to have committed infractions, instead of protecting them, he asked that the law should take its course and he suspended them without wasting time. That to me is impressive because it’s about the people.
“Secondly, there has been this outcry that the government is bloated and the rest. Yesterday he introduced a policy that reduced the cost of governance and today he told me it is just the beginning. There are many more decisions of government that will reduce the cost of governance” he said.
Bwala stated that he’s committed to supporting the administration of President Tinubu, even if it means defecting to the All Progressives Congress.
