The death has been announced of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi (Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom), the founder of African Independent Television and Ray Power Radio as well as a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Announcing the passing of Chief Dokpesi, his son Raymond Dokpeso Junior said he passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2023. He described the High Chief Dokpesi as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
“High Chief Dokpesi was also a respected and accomplished businessman, a pioneer in the media industry, and a philanthropist who dedicated his life to the service of his country and his community,” Dokpeso Junior said.
“His legacy will live on through the impact he made on the lives of many.”
Dokpesi Junior expressed appreciation for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asked for prayers over the loss of their patriarch and pleaded for privacy as they grieve as a family.
Without even giving cause of death, Dokpesi Junior said further details on the funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
