PDP Commends Governor Makinde’s Selection of Transition Committee

The Oyo State branch of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what it called the careful selection of the transition/inauguration committee in the state.

The ruling PDP in the state explained that governor Makinde’s selection of members of the transition committee reflects a true manifestation of the prospect of his second tenure in office tagged, Omituntun 2.0.

The Oyo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, who gave the commendation on behalf of the party in a press statement, disclosed that Omituntun 2.0 which, is about consolidating on the success of Omituntun 1.0, was already in full swing with the calibre of highly cerebral politicians, vibrant young leaders and technocrats on the list.

The Oyo State Executive Council, headed by the Executive Governor had met on Friday and approved a 15-man transition/inauguration committee to oversee the smooth transition of the present government to the next on the 29th of May, 2023.

The list of the transition/inauguration committee members include: Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi (Chairman) and Ms Ololade Ajibola (Secretary).

Other members are: Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, Mrs Toyin Balogun, Adeniyi Farinto, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Hon. Nureni Alabi, Chief Ademola Ojo, Dayo Ogungbenro, Wasiu Adeleke, Compol (rtd) Fatai Owoseni, Siju Lawal, Mr Akinola Ojo, Simeon Oyeleke and Prof Abdulwaheed Soliu.

The statement reads in part, “Without doubt, the assemblage of this cerebral team of transition/inauguration committee has further demonstrated that the Seyi Makinde government is gifted with bundles of talents and capable hands.

“This is a clear testament to the fact that accelerated development under Omituntun 1.0 was good but Sustainable development under Omituntun 2.0 will be better.

“Makinde, as a leader in his own class, has continued to raise the bar of good governance that his counterparts from both neighboring states and other parts of the country strive to emulate, and it is on this note we feel greatly lucky to be so blessed with such a visionary leader per excellence,” the statement declares.
