The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has assured its members and Nigerians of a credible, transparent, and peaceful National Convention scheduled to hold on Sunday in Abuja.
Addressing a press conference on the eve of the convention, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Jungudo Haruna, said all arrangements have been concluded to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.
The party described the convention as a defining moment in its history, reaffirming its commitment to democratic ideals, due process, and the will of its members.
According to the National Caretaker Working Committee NCWC, the process has been carefully structured to reflect inclusiveness and the collective aspirations of party faithful across the country.
The committee also emphasized that the convention will be conducted in full compliance with the PDP constitution and all relevant laws, reiterating the party’s commitment to strengthening democracy in Nigeria.

On concerns about possible disruptions, the party urged members to remain calm, noting that while efforts at reconciliation remain ongoing, it would not allow any action capable of undermining its stability and progress.
Delegates, stakeholders, and observers were also called upon to conduct themselves in an orderly and peaceful manner throughout the exercise.
The PDP further reaffirmed its position as a credible platform for national development, good governance, and the protection of democratic values, expressing confidence that the convention would strengthen its capacity ahead of future electoral engagements.
The party also expressed appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for providing a conducive environment for the successful hosting of the convention in Abuja.
Responding to questions on possible legal challenges, the party said it was not aware of any court order or appeal capable of stopping the convention.
It dismissed reports of such moves as speculation, stating that no official communication had been received.
On concerns about internal divisions, the NCWC acknowledged differences within the party but maintained that it enjoys broad support across its structures, with key stakeholders expected to participate in the convention.
