The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated its campaigns in Kano state, North-west Nigeria and presented the party’s flag to contestants vying for various positions in the 2023 general elections under the party.
The PDP’s governorship candidate in the state, Sadik Aminu Wali, and his running mate, Yusuf Bello Danbatta, were presented the party’s flag.
The party also recognized its three senatorial candidates, the 24 candidates aspiring to the House of Representatives and the 40 State Assembly candidates.
The Senator representing Kano Central at the National Assembly, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, at the event urged members of the party to stand tall and work hard for the success of the PDP in Kano state.
“Politics is not a do-or-die affair, but I am much confident that Kano people are in support of the PDP as the hope of the common citizen,” he said.
The occasion was attended by the leaders of the party, including Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, the deputy chairman of the PDP North-West Zone; the former Commissioner for Water Resources in Kano State, Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani; and the former Commissioner of Information, Prof. Umar Faruq, among other leaders of the party in Kano.
