PDP Inaugurates Local Government Campaign Committees in Cross River

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has inaugurated local government campaign committees to help with its mission of winning in the coming elections.

The Director General of the Cross River PDP campaign organisation and former deputy governor of the state Mr. Efiok Cobham urged the teams to work hard at convincing voters to elect the party’s candidates at the state and national levels.

Cobham told the gathering in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, that PDP was the only party capable of delivering the state and nation from economic and social collapse.

Cobham insisted that there was need for members of the party, especially the local government campaign committees, to embark on intensive enlightenment to win the support of the people.

He said, “as you have been inaugurated, there is need for you to be very aggressive in educating the electorate to vote the PDP as the only party with the blueprint to rescue Cross River and Nigeria from imminent collapse.

“Such intensive enlightenment approach is needed to assist the electorate make informed choices in favour of the PDP as the most viable option to the present excruciating socio-economic woe bedeviling the state and the country at large,” he stressed.

According to Cobham,”posterity has chosen and saddled you with the historic task of leading the battle to reclaim our state and restore our lost glory. The determination, commitment and quest to excel in this onerous task must supersede every personal interest.”

He promised that once the PDP regained political power by a clean sweep at the 2023 polls, the people of Cross River State and Nigeria would benefit immensely.

Working towards victory

The deputy chairman of the PDP, Mr. Dennis Nkiri enjoined the members of the local government campaign committees to take the task serious in other to achieve victory for the party at the polls.

Similar, the Assistant PDP State Chairman South, Mr. Asuquo Ekpo, who performed the inauguration proper commended the committees for accepting the task. He urged them to be diligent and cautious during the campaign.

In a brief response, Mr. Isoni Isoni from Odukpani local government area expressed appreciation to the PDP for the privilege to embark on the task and assured of the committees resolve in ensuring that the party emerges victorious in the state and at the national levels.

A stalwart of the PDP and member of the election management committee in Calabar municipality, Mr. Inok Edim asserted that 2023 would relaunch the party to power as the only option for a prosperous Cross River State and Nigeria.
