The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has cast his vote successfully at his polling Unit, Ajia 012 ward in Jimeta Yola Adamawa State North-eastern Nigeria.
He arrived the polling unit in company of his wife, Titi Abubakar by 9 am local time, there after he cast his vote a minute after nine
Immediately after he voted, Atiku told journalists that he was optimistic that the 2023 general election would favor him.
The atmosphere of the polling Unit around where Alhaji Abubakar voted were calm and peaceful.
Meanwhile, the Presidential candidate of Labour Party in Nigeria, Mr Peter Obi has cast his vote at Agulu ward 2, Unit 006 Aniocha local council Anambra central in the ongoing presidential and National Assembly elections.
Mr Obi who arrived his polling unit along wife and supporters cast his vote at about 11:40 pm local time after accreditation and verification with BVAS machine.
The former Anambra State governor told the newsmen that the process was very simple without any form of delay.
He commended INEC for a job well done believing the experience is the same all over Nigeria.
“The voting process was speedy and efficient, I am hoping the experience is the same in other polling units in the state and across Nigeria.“
The presidential flag bearer of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso along with his wife Salamatu Kwankwaso, has voted in his Kwankwaso village, Madobi local government area of Kano state north-western Nigeria.
The candidate arrived Kwankwaso malamai ward Tandu 1 005 at exactly 11:35 and cast his vote at 11:49.
Shortly after casting his vote, Kwankwaso told Journalists that he is in the right position to emerge victorious at the end of the election.
“I’m sure of wining because I’m in the right position,“ he said.
Security situation in the area is encouraging as the electorates abide by the laid down rules of the engagement.
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Mr Bola Tinubu has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for a peaceful and seamless conduct of the voting exercise.
He gave this commendation after casting his ballot in the Presidential and National Assembly elections at Ward C, polling unit 085 at Keffi Street Ikeja in Lagos state, South-West Nigeria.
The APC candidate who commended the voters for their large turn out said that he is confident of victory and would congratulate the winner if he losses.
He also has promised to revive the nation’s economy and ensure good governance if voted into power.
Speaking to the journalists, the former Governor of Lagos State urged Nigerians to be respected democrats, stressing that his previous engagements with different interest groups across the country would make him triumph.
“Today and after, I want to tell Nigerians to be respected democrats because in my relationship with people, I have earned it and I have worked hard for it and I have traversed the country and met with people, thirty six states and I have engaged people at city hall meetings and various interest groups, so I am very confident of victory.
“We will be a transformative Government and we will work hard to change the economic crisis and it’s not only Nigeria affected by the economic crisis it’s spreading all over the world and we just have to recalibrate the system and set Nigeria on the path of recovery,“ he said.
