PDP Releases Timetable For Bye- election

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has released the timetable and schedule of activies for upcoming Bye-lection scheduled for 3 February 2024.

A press statement signed by the party’s National Organisaing Secretary, Mr Umar Bature indicated that notice of primary election and congresses to the state chapter will commence on Wednesday 28 December, 2023 while sale of forms take off from Thursday 29th December 2023.

Bature’s message indicates that the state party primaries will hold on 8 January 2024 and appeals will be heard on Tuesday 9 January 2024, among other activities.

Mr. Buture also announced that cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for those viying to contest or the Senate seat is  rhree point five million naira, House of Representatives, two point five million naira and House of Assembly would cost Six Hundred Thousand naira only.

This announcement is a huge relief for the party’s candidates in Plateau North senatorial zone and Jos South/ Jos East Federal Constituency who had nursed fears of not taking part in the bye-election ordered by the Court of Appeal as they can now take part in the election.
