The presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa were first received at the palace by the royal father of the land, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Odundun II.
It was my honour and pleasure to lead my team to the palace of Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Odundun II. I am even more pleased with his kind speech, & my promise to him is that Akure and the whole of Ondo state will not be left behind in our plan to Recover Nigeria. pic.twitter.com/81vKmFIcPv

Thereafter they headed for the MKO Abiola Democracy Park, the venue of the PDP presidential campaign rally.
The various entrances to the MKO Abiola Democracy Park were heavily manned by security operatives, as people were thoroughly screened before entry.
Speaking to the youths, Atiku emphasized Youth Empowerment as his number one priority.
“…I have also undertaken to ensure that.
“Our young men and women, we promise you that we will set aside enough money to ensure that we empower you for your jobs, for your security, for your families.
“That is why in our policy documents, we said we are going to set aside $US10 billion to make sure we provide small and medium enterprises for young men and women to create jobs and to empower themselves.
“It is our number one priority: we must empower our young men and women so that they can have a brighter future for themselves and their families.
“…Our people of Ondo state, we shall by the grace of God provide enough funding for education so that our universities can continue with their work.
“…Not what the APC is doing today. For more than eight months universities were closed and simply because they don’t care about their education; they don’t care about their future.
“We promise it will not be the same again,” Atiku vowed.
Also, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, and other party leaders from Ondo state charged supporters with votes:
“…As One, We Can Get It Done! Together, We Shall #RecoverNigeria #WeWantPDPBack,” he chanted.
My team and I just ended a meeting with leaders of both Christian and Muslim faiths in Akure. It was an opportunity to share our #RecoverNigeria plans. And to assure them that the @OfficialPDPNig shall run an inclusive government that will accommodate different persuasions. -AA pic.twitter.com/AFRgt92DwM
