The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has declared the results of Yabo/Shagari federal constituency and Bodinga Tambuwal state assemblies election held on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Declaring the result, the Returning Officer for Yabo/Shagari federal constituency re-run election, Prof. Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudu from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, said the election was keenly contested among the candidates from the nine political parties that participated.
Prof. Bagudu declared the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Yusuf Yabo who polled 26,829 the winner of the election.
Yabo defeated his closest rival Abubakar Umar of the All Progressive Party (APC), who polled 26,113 votes.
Meanwhile in Bodinga North State constituency the Returning Officer Prof Faruk Tambuwal, said Abubakar Magaji of PDP polled 6,488 votes to defeat his rival Yusuf Marafa Danchadi of APC who scored 5,893 votes.
Similarly, the returning officer for Tambuwal North state constituency, Professor Bayero Bukkuyum, announced, Bashir Ahmed of APC as winner of the election having scored 19,315 votes to defeat his closest rival PDP’s Hantsi Sule Romo who scored 19,021 votes.
