The Chairman of the PDP Youth Forum and Gombe Youth Leader, Jamilu Ali, has called on all party members and stakeholders to put aside their differences and work together for the stability and growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ali urged leaders across all ranks to “sit down at the table and resolve all matters” affecting the party, stressing that Nigerians still rely on the PDP to provide credible leadership.

“As the Chairman of the Forum, we stand together to congratulate the new National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed,” he said. “We are happy to have this kind of person, especially as a youth. We pledge our full support to help him stabilize the party, reconcile all factions, and create a good environment for the PDP to thrive.”

He appealed to party elders to give the new Chairman the needed backing. “We beg all our leaders to sheath their swords. Our interest should be one, Nigerians are waiting for us. Let’s support the new Chairman.”

Also speaking, the PDP Youth Leader and Secretary from Cross River, Comrade Brian Odion, emphasized unity within the party.

“Those at the higher level have their way of resolving issues. We believe PDP is one, there is no faction,” Odion said. “We are on the side of those saying, ‘let’s do the right thing.’ Whoever calls for the right thing to be done, we are in support of that.”

Ali reaffirmed the youths’ commitment to legality and due process, noting that the recent court ruling that recognized the new leadership must be respected.

“There is no party constitution above the Nigerian Constitution,” he stated. “The outgoing chairman himself respected the rule of law. The court has ruled clearly, and we must abide by it.”

He concluded by emphasising the central role of young people in rebuilding the PDP:

“As youths, we are the backbone of society. No community can grow without the participation of its youth. Our new acting chairman is youth-friendly, and we are ready to support him in using that energy to restructure and unite the party.”
