PenCom extends online verification exercise for retirees

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has announced the extension of the online verification and enrollment exercise for 2021 retirees, and prospective retirees of the Federal Government Treasury Funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

This disclosure is contained in a statement signed by the Head, Corporate Communications of PenCom, Mr Peter Aghahowa, and made available to newsmen on Friday in Abuja.

Aghahowa said that PenCom had developed an online application that automated the Annual Pre-Retirement Verification and Enrolment Exercise for retirees/prospective retirees of Treasury- Funded Federal Government MDAs.

The exercise which commenced on September 1, 2021, had a completion deadline of October 29, 2021, within which the enrolment process is supposed to have been completed.

He said that only employees of Federal Government Treasury-Funded MDAs are eligible to participate in the 2021 online verification and enrollment exercise.

The PenCom spokesman also said the exercise involved employees who retired from January to October 2021, employees who are due to retire from November to December 2021 and retirees that missed the previous enrolment exercises from 2007 to 2019.

Recall that PenCom had commenced online verification and enrollment for its 2021 retirees and prospective retirees of Federal Government Treasury-Funded (MDAs on September 1 after the development of an online application automation programme by the commission for the annual pre-retirement verification and enrollment for all its retirees.

The 2 options for the enrollment exercise include: self-assisted through pension desk officers or Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs)-assisted.
