The President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, has commended the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for what he described as a remarkable transformation in healthcare delivery and infrastructure development in the state.

Speaking upon his arrival for the 2026 PSN Colloquium in Yola, Pharm. Ibrahim praised the governor’s leadership style, noting that the ongoing infrastructural renewal reflects visionary and purposeful governance that is reshaping the state’s development trajectory.

Ibrahim said the quality of completed and ongoing projects under the Fintiri administration has turned Yola into a “city with a difference,” where modern infrastructure is effectively integrated with improved healthcare systems to better serve the people.

According to him, “I sincerely commend the Governor for his foresight in ensuring economic growth through infrastructural excellence,” adding that Adamawa is fast becoming a model for healthcare and development in Nigeria.

The PSN also lauded the state government’s efforts in sanitising the healthcare sector and strengthening the pharmaceutical value chain, describing these reforms as aligned with national aspirations for a more resilient health system.

In his remarks, former PSN President, Pharm. Olumide Akintayo, noted that prioritising healthcare demonstrates leadership that values human life, describing Governor Fintiri as a “pro-pharmaceutical” leader committed to quality healthcare delivery.

The PSN leadership further expressed confidence that the standard of facilities in Adamawa would enhance public trust in Nigeria’s health system and called on other state governors to emulate the “Fintiri model” of development.

Governor Fintiri, in response, assured the PSN delegation of the state’s commitment to a successful and world-class colloquium, reaffirming his administration’s readiness to deepen collaboration in strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding access to quality medicines.
