He flagged off the operation at Unguwar Wudilawa, near Kofar Kudu, in Municipal Local Government Area of the state.
Danzago said: “We started the exercise with a loader and 10 trucks to properly ensure total collection of wastes in Municipal, Gwale and Dala Local Government Areas”.
The philanthropist said that the exercise would proceed to Unguwar Kurna, Malam Aminu Kano and Kurna in Fagge Local Government Area.
He explained that all identified refuse on major roads in the metropolis and waterways would be evacuated to prevent flooding during raining season.
Danzago said that operation “keep Kano metropolis clean” would enable residents fast-track the clearing of waste from the streets of Kano metropolis and restore environmental sustainability.
“I am worried with heaps of refuse in all the major highways that is posing serious threats to the health and vitality of residents, if left unchecked,” he said.
He said that the current poor state of the environment during the raining season had exposed the past administration’s poor management of the waste collection and disposal in the state.
Danzago expressed dismay that trucks and other facilities needed for evacuation of refuse exercise were sold to individuals by the immediate past administration.
“I am personally embarking on the operation clear Kano as part of my modest contribution to the smooth take off of the present administration in the state.
“I appeal to residents to complement the efforts of the government to desist from dumping of waste on waterways and major roads so as to prevent flooding during and after the raining season,” he said.
