Phoenix University In Nasarawa State To Produce Skilled Graduates

The Phoenix University Agwada, in Nasarawa state, North Central Nigeria said it has concluded plans to commence academic activities for the 2023/2024 academic session in January 2024 with a focus on producing skilled graduates.
Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Abdullahi Bala stated this during a maiden Press conference in Agwada Kokona local government area of Nasarawa state.
He said the university is modeled on the vision of producing graduates that will add value to the Nigerian economy as well as have the knowledge and skills to be global players in the emerging socioeconomic trends.
He further said the University has concluded all arrangements and is due to begin lectures in January, for the 2023/2024, academic session.
The VC said the university which aims to mobilize the best human and material resources available to provide highly qualitative and affordable education for the teeming youths of Nasarawa State and across the country, had received approval from all national regulatory agencies to begin with three faculties including Natural and Applied Science, Computing and that of Social and management sciences with Eleven departments.
He added that admissions into various programs are currently ongoing and requirements for all candidates are expected to meet up with the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) standard of a cut-off point of 140.
“To qualify for admission into Phoenix University, all candidates are expected to meet the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) minimum cut-off mark and possess five credit passes in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and English, in the SSCE (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) at not more than two sittings”.
“Phoenix University received formal approval and registration of the Federal Executive Council on 27th May 2023 after fulfilling all initial regulatory requirements and was subsequently issued with a provisional license for its take-off by the National Universities Commission on Friday, 9th June 2023”.
“The University received a Resource Verification Team from the National Universities Commission on Tuesday, 28th November 2023 to inspect the adequacy of our facilities to commence academic activities”.
“Owing to the quality of our infrastructural and academic resources, we recently received the final approval to commence formal academic activities and admissions into the 24 academic programs that were presented for Resource Verification”, VC noted.
The VC however, said that candidates who are interested in applying to the university are encouraged to visit its website, https://phoenixuniversity.edu.ng, where they can access the application forms.
He, therefore, called on citizens of Nasarawa state to take advantage of the top-grade facilities provided at the University to give their children and wards the best education available in the environment.
Phoenix University is a Privately-run and the first indigenous institution owned by an individual in Nasarawa state, located at the heart of the state in Agwada, Kokona local government area of the state.
