Nigeria’s Pitch Awards, has unveiled plans for the 2025 edition, which will be the 12th in its history.
At an event in Lagos to mark the announcement, Pitch Awards President, Shina Phillips, commended the growth of Nigerian football and appreciated the NFF for its consistent support of the awards.

“The journey to the 12th edition reflects the determination of stakeholders to sustain a platform rewarding footballers, administrators, and passionate supporters.
“In spite of the challenges, this project has showcased resilience, dedication, and patriotism from all involved,” Phillips said.
He also confirmed plans for an annual sports conference to precede the awards, featuring local and international speakers.
Phillips said the awards aim to refocus national attention on sports and create new opportunities for administrators and stakeholders.
He said voting for the 12th edition will open on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and close on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The award ceremony will take place in Lagos on Dec. 22.
NFF Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, praised the organisers for maintaining the credibility and transparency of the Pitch Awards since inception.
“This remains Nigeria’s only football award free of controversy. It has always been a smooth and transparent process,” he said.
He commended voters and organisers alike, affirming the NFF’s continued support for the prestigious event.
The 2025 Pitch Awards will honour Nigeria’s best footballers, male and female, alongside other outstanding contributors to the sport.
