The Nigeria Police in the Federal Capital Territory FCT says the Force is determined to safeguard lives and properties in the Nation’s capital.
The Commissioner of Police CP Sunday Babaji stated this while parading over ninety suspects scavengers popularly known as “Baban Bola” on alleged theft and other heinous crimes in the territory.
The Commissioner of Police who was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Ben Igwe, said strange persons have been trooping into the FCT.
He stated that the command was working towards eradicating such personalities from the Nation’s Capital following the recent Ban on the illegal activities of metal waste Scavengers Popularly known as “Baban Bola.”
DCP Igwe revealed that, it is evident that the Scavengers were involved in stealing and vandalisation of personal properties and critical government infrastructure in the territory.
He also made it known that “the Command would deport the suspects Scavengers to their various states of origin, that Abuja is not for everybody. Arrest will continue until all the bad ailments are flushed from the FCT.”
The Commissioner of Police while urging critical stakeholders to partner with the FCT Police Command in eradicating criminals reassured residents that the Command remained resolute in the fight against crime and criminality.
