Police begins murder investigation of University Student

The Nasarawa State Police Command has begun an investigation into the alleged murder of a student of Nasarawa State University Keffi, NSUK, Michael Elechi.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the State, ASP Ramhan Nansel, made this known in an interview with journalists in Lafia, the state capital.

He said the incident was reported by one Joy Anga, a student of NSUK and resident of the same compound with the deceased at Police Station at Angwan Lambo near the university on Feb. 15.

Anga said that she returned from lectures around 5:40 pm and saw the gate of their building half-open, on entering she found the deceased in the poll of blood,” the police spokesperson said.

ASP Nansel further explained that upon receipt of the report, the police personnel at Angwan Lambo rush to the scene and took the victim to Federal Medical Centre Keffi where he was confirmed dead.

The PPRO also said that the corpse had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending the outcome of the investigation.

He added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adesina Soyemi had ordered an autopsy to unravel the mystery behind the dead.

The deceased before his death was a final year part-time student of the Business Administration Department of Nasarawa State University Keffi.
