The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetogun has stressed the need for sustained collaboration among Nigerian leaders at various levels of government with law enforcement agencies.
According to him, such collaboration would further strengthen and effectively combat the various forms of crimes, prevalent in the country.
Egbetogun stated this in his office at force headquarters, Louise Edet House, Abuja, during a meeting with the Federal Lawmaker representing Ilorin East/ South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Dr. Ahmed Yinka Aluko.
He assured Dr Aluko that their conversations would undergo a thorough review, with the requests presented being carefully considered for swift action.
Furthermore, the Inspector General of Police acknowledged the unwavering commitment and collaborative efforts of the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq with security agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of the people of the State.
The Police boss added that the meeting marked a significant stride in addressing the critical security concerns faced by the nation, underlining the importance of unified efforts in enhancing the safety and well-being of Nigerian citizens.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr Aluko highlighted the need for significant and collaborative efforts by all Nigerians in tackling the pressing security concerns facing the country.
The federal lawmaker recalled that Egbetokun previously served as the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State and acknowledged his remarkable dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of the state during his tenure.
Dr Aluko lamented the range of security challenges affecting the nation, with a specific focus on the escalating incidents of kidnapping and banditry.
A substantial portion of their deliberations centred on addressing the unique security concerns within Kwara State, notably spotlighting the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency.
Dr. Aluko mentioned that the region has witnessed a concerning surge in kidnapping incidents, particularly along the boundary between Ilorin South (Fufu) and Ifelodun Local Government areas of the state.
During the meeting, the Lawmaker who was a one-time Security Adviser to the Kwara Governor and a graduate in Security and Strategy at the University of Ilorin explained the vital importance of strengthening the security workforce in Kwara State and the nation at large and offered commendations for a more improved security activities.
