A security Organization popularly known as Police Community Relations Committee PCRC in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has embarked on awareness campaign on why Police and public should see themselves as partners in progress.
The PCRC Chairman in the State Mr. Mkpukpu Michael made this Known to Journalists during their sensitisation campaign in Abakaliki the State Capital.
Mkpukpu said the awareness became necessary because of the alarming killing of Police officers and men by hoodlums.
“People in various communities should know that Police is your nearest friend and should not at anytime plan evil against your own Police. On the same vain police should also handle members of public with love knowing that they are your brothers and sisters.
“Even when it’s sometimes alleged that the killers of Police are members of Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB Eastern Security network, if you succeed in killing every Police in southeast Nigeria, assuming the Biafra Independence is granted, who is going to live in the Biafra if everyone is killed,” Mkpukpu asked.
The Chairman called both Police, IPOB and hoodlums to always bear in mind that they one and should always act in love at all times.
A member of the PCRC, who is a Lecturer at Ebonyi State University EBSU, Dr. Uche Iburu said the mandate of the Committee is create good relationship between Police and the general public.
Also, the Assistant Secretary of the Committee who represented the Secretary, Mr Ernest Nwaze said with the committee, the killing of Police in the State will soon be over.
