The Nigerian Police Council has confirmed Usman Baba as Inspector General of Police.
Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, confirmed the development at the end of the one and half hours meeting of the Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said Baba was unanimously confirmed by those who participated in the meeting.
President Buhari had on April 6, appointed Usman Baba as acting the Inspector General of Police.
The minister said Buhari directed the Police Boss to ensure insecurity is brought to the barest minimum.
Usman Baba was a Deputy Inspector General of Police before his promotion.
