Nigerian police authorities have restored order in Lamurde Local Government Areas of Adamawa State following a violent communal clash between the Chobo and Bachama communities.

The conflict, reportedly triggered by a dispute over farmland currently under court litigation, led to the destruction of property, with 33 round huts and three flat houses confirmed burned.

Authorities are still conducting search operations to determine the full extent of casualties.

In response to the crisis, additional police reinforcements have been deployed to support local efforts.

Units from the Mobile Police Force (PMF), Operation Farauta, and the Counter Terrorism Unit are now on ground to stabilize the area and prevent further escalation.

“Normalcy has been restored to the affected communities,” said SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa State Command. “However, investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators and their collaborators.”

The Adamawa State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and urges residents to remain calm while security operations continue.
