The Gombe State Police Command has announced new movement restrictions from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., effective from February 7, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance security and public safety.
In a statement, the Command emphasised its commitment to safeguarding residents and urged the public to comply with the directive to ensure a safer environment.
Parents and guardians were advised to caution their wards against violating the restriction, as non-compliance will not be tolerated.

New CP of Gombe State Police Command
CP Bello Yahaya has taken over the mantle of leadership as the 23rd Commissioner of Police in the Gombe State Police Command.
He takes over from CP Hayatu Usman, who has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The new Gombe State Commissioner of Police is from Shinkafi, Shinkafi L.G.A of Zamfara State and was enlisted in the Nigeria police force on 15th August, 1996 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), and trained at the Prestigious Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano.
Before his posting as the Commissioner of Police, he served at different departments within force and on secondment among which are as follows: Anambra State Police Command.
CP Yahaya served with the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration Zamfara State Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police Special Anti Fraud Unit FCID Abuja, Assistant Commissioner of Police Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) now Force Intelligence Department (FID) Abuja.
He also served as an Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Force Intelligence Bureau Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police Intelligence and Technical Team FIB Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police Special Tactical Squad FIB Abuja.
He also served as the Deputy Commissioner of in-charge Criminal Investigation Department Ekiti State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Financing Force Criminal Investigation Department FCID Abuja, Commissioner of Police in-charge of Courses, Police Staff Collage Jos and he is currently the 23rd Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command.
CP Yahaya has attended several courses within and outside Nigeria, some of them were at the Nigeria Institute of Police Studies, Abuja and the National Policing Centre, Bramshill, U.K, as well as the International Law Enforcement Academy, Rosewell, New Mexico, U.S.A.
The Command urged members of the general public to take note and continue to cooperate with the Command in fostering peace in the State.
