Police Vow to Beef up security in Kano

The Kano state command of the Nigeria Police has expressed its determination to beef up security by getting rid of criminal activities in the state.

The State commissioner of police, CP Muhammad Hussaini Gumel stated this in a media briefing, while parading 108 suspects for various crimes.

“Going forward on this we have set out operational strategies with robust intelligence gathering on the early warning signs and our assets are already in place towards surmounting all forms of the underlying crimes and criminality around the state,” he said.

According to him, 16 criminals were invited with a view to dialogue with them and advise them to lay off their criminal life and repent, warning that refusal to obey the invitation and turn a new leaf, will lead to them being declared wanted with subsequent arrests.

“The invitation is to encourage them for a smooth transition from their monster life to a noble and respectful human beings. 

“If they turn themselves in, we’ll dialogue with them, if they accept to purify themselves and decides to have an immaculate life devoid of criminality, then we can select our team of football players, they’ll select their own team and we will have a football match.

“As we have learnt some of them are even tired and want start a good life but being terrorized to stay back by some of their members.

“If they chose to continue with their devilish life, the command is ever ready to confront the devil in them within the arm bit of the law,” he warned.

Gumel said the command has zero tolerance in dealing with the criminals across the State, which has become the hall mark of the command, geared towards providing peaceful environment for all citizens of Kano state, urging the populace provide to the police with actionable information.
