The ABU Mmaduaburochukwu Foundation started the New Year by celebrating with the children and widows of some police officers who died in their line of duty.
The event took place at the Central Police Station, Awka Anambra State.
The founder of the foundation, Mmaduaburochukwu Attah, was moved by the plight of the widows and revealed that the foundation will grant immediate scholarships to 10 selected children, with the possibility of taking more of the children into the foundation’s wing.
Wife of the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State and Chairperson of Police Officers’ Wives Association, (POWA), Mrs. Ikemi Echeng, commended the foundation and in particular Chief Attah for the selfless humanitarian services, stating that the noble act from the foundation will never be forgotten by the widows and POWA.
Mrs. Echeng, prayed that God continues to uplift the foundation and its founder for beginning the New Year by relieving the burdens of those widows.
Chief Attah, who once lived with deprivation while growing up as a child, revealed that, among his visions, was to help as many children from underprivileged families as to get an education and live their dreams. The foundation has been on the front line of bringing succour to underprivileged families, taking the destitute off the street and giving children the keys to a brighter future through education.
With the New Year holding lots of hope, Chief Attah has assured that the foundation’s aid packages for 2023 will double with more lives touched.
