Accreditation and Voting in the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections have commenced in most polling units across Rivers State.
Voters are already casting their votes in polling units 8, 13, & 16 in PHALGA Obiri Kpalukwuozu Orianwo Abali Rebisi.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, had disbursed voting materials from its Registration Area Centre, RAC in St Andre Primary School, Emenike to other polling units in Port Harcourt
However, INEC officials have just arrived at Mgbundukwu Ward 15 Unit 009, and are currently in the process of accrediting voters.
Similarly, INEC officials arrived at Ward 4, Units 18 and 19 by 9:29 am and are about to set up for accreditation.
The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS is working fine so far.
In Ikwere LGA, Unit 14 Ward 8, electoral materials have arrived and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and his wife have cast their votes which took him roughly two minutes.
Voice of Nigeria reports that there is a high presence of security personnel in most polling units.
