Polls: Babagana Zulum retains seat as Borno State Governor

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has been re-elected in the just concluded Governorship and House of Assembly election.
The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) announced governor Zulum as the winner on Monday.
INEC returning officer, Prof. Jude Rabo, announced the result as Zulum of the All Progressive Party pulled a total of 545, 542 votes to defeat his People’s Democratic Party opponent, Mohammed Jajari who got 82,147 votes.
Meanwhile, all the 28 House of Assembly seats in the state were won by APC.
Governor Zulum defeated 11 contestants by a wide margin in the governorship election.
Nigeria’s Vice-President Elect, Kashim Shettima as well as other APC dignitaries from Borno state were all with Governor Zulum when INEC declared him the winner.
