The National Population Commission in Nigeria has begun a comprehensive strategy training for its personnel ahead of the 2023 Population and Housing Census
The training will align with the overall objectives of the Commission’s mandates and aimed at identifying the appropriate training skills required to achieve the desired learning outcome during the implementation of each activity in the census.
The Chairman of the Commission Mr. Nasir Kwarra made the statement at a National Level Training for 2023 Population and Housing Census in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital
“It is imperative that a digitally skilled workforce is utilized” and that mixed training program for the 2023 Population and Housing Census and that it’s includes “self-learning study, online virtual training with monitored simulated hands-on and in- person classroom training was designed.”
He further explained that “The online virtual training has commenced, and is now being followed by the contact training for the Master trainers”
The objectives of the “Training of the Trainers workshop” includes; Preparing the top-level trainers for standardised census training, adequately teach the concepts and definitions for the Census and Provide clear guidelines for the field enumeration procedures for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
He noted that “The quality of the personnel for the 2023 Population and Housing Census has a great impact on the outcome of the census.”
