The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has formally dispelled claims suggesting that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery, which was re-commissioned two months prior, has ceased operations.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the organisation, Olufemi Soneye.
“We wish to clarify that such reports are false as the refinery is fully operational as verified a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC,” he said.
He further explained that preparation for the day’s loading operation is currently ongoing.
Soneye therefore urges members of the public to discount such reports as they are the figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip-off Nigerians.
