Positive Narratives About Nigeria Must be Shared – DG VON

The efforts of President Bola Tinubu in turning around the fortunes of Nigeria must be told in such a way that Nigerians and other international communities would comprehend.

 

Director General, Voice of Nigeria VON, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace committed while on a courtesy call on the Emir of Kano North West Nigeria, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

 

He explained that Nigeria has suffered serious negative stories and all efforts must be made to change the narrative.

 

Ndace said “I am at the palace to show respect to the Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero while I was President of my BUK Department I organized a tour for my members to the Palace.

 

He noted that “there are positive stories to tell about Nigeria, there are so many good stories to tell about our country not the way the country was portrayed.”

 

He said, “One cannot stop telling positive stories about himself because if he did not tell them nobody would do it for him”. 

 

The VON DG informed the Emir of several platforms available in the External Broadcast platform to tell stories about the country and the positive things it has.

 

The DG noted that VON would be there available for the Royal Emirate 24 hours, to propagate the traditional values the Emirate and other Emirate Councils have.

 

He said,” today because of the changes in the World VON is on Social Media and is ready for everybody wishing to say good about Nigeria and its Citizens.

 

“I’m now the 6th DG/Chief Executive Officer, our mandate is to tell the African and Nigeria stories in eight Languages of Hausa Igbo, Yoruba, Fulfulde, Arabic, French and Kiswahili and we focus on telling truthful believing consistent is the way to go.”

 

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero Represented by the Walin Kano, Bashir Mahe Bashir, explained that news about Nigeria today are stories that are so frightening and which always try to create tension among the Citizens.

 

He said, the efforts of DG VON in making sure that things are portrayed in very excellent ways, should be fully supported and commended.

 

“Nigeria today needs good news that would keep the country safer than ever before.

 

The Emir said the Kano Emirate Council is highly ready to ensure that anybody who is in the vanguard of portraying the nation in a good light must be supported.
