The Managing Director of Hydro Electric Power Producing Development Commision, HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa has decried the non-implementation of 10 percent internally generated revenue from the power generating Company to the Commision as directed by the government.
The managing Director who stated this during the organization’s 5th Governing Council meeting in Minna, Niger state North Central Nigeria on Wednesday, said the agency relies only on the 40% budget funding by the Government of Nigeria.
Yelwa who lamented on the paucity of funds affecting the agency’s numerous developmental activities, explained that the main focus of the Commission for 2022 includes resettlement projects in Muregi, Ketso communities in Niger state as well as communities in Kogi state.
The Chairman, governing Council of HYPPADEC, Joseph Terfa Ityav commended President Muhammafu Buhari for the establishment of the commission aimed at ameliorating the plight of the dam affected areas over the years.
The HYPPADEC chairman who further assured that the year 2022 will be more eventful with activities and more projects to ensure success of the Commission, however mentioned plans by the agency of training of over 5000 youths across the catchment states of the commission in 2022.
