Power supply: System Collapse Throws Enugu State, Others Into Darkness- EEDC

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has announced a widespread power outage affecting its network across the South East states, following a general system collapse at 6:48 PM on October 14, 2024.
In an official statement signed by Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, the company confirmed that this disruption has impacted electricity supply in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform its valued customers that a general system collapse occurred at 18:48 hours today, October 14, 2024. This incident has resulted in a loss of power supply across our network,” Ezeh stated.
“As a result, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are currently offline, preventing us from supplying electricity to our customers in the affected states.”
EEDC is closely monitoring the situation and is awaiting detailed updates regarding the cause of the collapse and the timeline for restoration of service from the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo.
