Liverpool scored a late equaliser to hold Premier League leaders Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday, as the Gunners are now six (6) points ahead of second-placed Manchester City in the race for English football’s top prize.
The hosts started with Cody Gakpo in attack, with Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota supporting on the wings. For Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus featured in attack in the starting line up as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were on the flanks.
In the 8th minute, Martinelli fired Arsenal into the lead against the run of play to silence the fans in the stadium, tapping in an effort to beat Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Arsenal looked in good form as they looked set to pass a tough Anfield test, a ground they haven’t won a Premier League game since 2012.
The Gunners then extended its lead in the 28th minute courtesy of a header from Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus, sending the Arsenal fans in the stadium into a frenzy. 2-0 to Arsenal!!!!!
Just before halftime, Liverpool found its way back into the encounter after a brilliant piece of play thanks to Salah, who found himself in the right place at the right time to tap in his effort to make the scores 2-1.
Liverpool then had a chance in the 54th minute to equalise after the referee pointed to the penalty spot after a reckless tackle by Arsenal defender Rob Holding. However, Salah fired his effort wide as the scores remained 2-1 in favour of Arsenal.
The hosts continued to press and create more chances as they looked to find their way back into the game, but Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale kept making save after save to keep the Gunners ahead in the contest.
However, Liverpool’s perseverance was rewarded three minutes from time after substitute Roberto Firmino levelled the contest with a brilliant header.
Late in the game, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale produced two amazing saves to deny Salah and Ibrahima Konate from scoring stoppage-time winners .
The match finished 2-2 as the thrilling encounter ended in a stalemate.

Arsenal are now six (6) points clear at the top of the Premier League table having played a game more than second placed Manchester City.
For Arsenal, they next face West Ham in the Premier League, while Liverpool will challenge Leeds United.
