The Presidency has reaffirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s ongoing economic reforms are necessary to repair the economy rather than to cause hardship.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, stated this on Sunday during a national TV programme.

Mr Onanuga also emphasised that President Tinubu is fully aware of Nigerians’ economic challenges and is committed to providing relief.

He rejected claims that the President is indifferent to economic challenges confronting the citizens.

The presidential aide also stated that President Tinubu is more than ready to heal Nigerians of pain and not to hurt the citizens.

President Tinubu feels the pain of Nigerians and assures them that relief is on the horizon.

“Some have resorted to calling him ‘T-pain’ out of mischief, but he is not that. He’s here to heal, not to hurt.

The President has never shied away from acknowledging that Nigerians are going through difficult times.

Mr Onanuga stressed that the Nigerian Leader is working tirelessly to provide relief and ensure that the nation moves towards a future of prosperity.

He identified economic growth indicators and increased revenues as signs of an improved economic situation in the country.

This is a painful transition, but it’s part of a long-term strategy to stabilise and grow the economy,” he added.

Mr Onanuga reassured of the Bola Tinubu-led administration’s commitment to all reforms considered as necessary for the sustainable growth of Nigeria.
