President Muhammadu Buhari is in a meeting with the Service Chiefs and heads of other security agencies at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those attending the meeting, which started at 09:00 GMT, include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Others include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Auwal Gambo, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba.
Also at the meeting are the National Security Adviser, retired Major General Babagana Monguno, Director General, Directorate of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and that of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i, among others.
The meeting is a follow up to that of the National Council of State held last week at the same venue, where the current security situation of the country is expected to be reviewed.
Just two days ago, President Buhari stated that government would go tough on any individual or group that plans to destabilise the nation, a remark he emphasized yesterday at the National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress, held in Abuja.
