President Buhari Takes Bola Tinubu on Tour of Presidential Villa

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Friday took the Nigerian President-elect Bola Tinubu, on a tour of the presidential villa, Abuja.

President Buhari and the President-elect had observed Friday’s congregational prayer together at the presidential villa mosque, after which President Buhari took Tinubu to the Council Chambers, to the Press Gallery.

 

After that, they moved to the President’s office, banquet hall and later the official residence.

State Chief of Protocol, Lawal Kazaure, gave a brief description of all the places the President-elect as President Buhari took his guest around.

Earlier in the day, President Buhari had received his assets declaration forms from the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Professor Isah Mohammed.

Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, witnessed the occasion.

Meanwhile, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has also taken Vice-President-Elect, Kashim Shettima on a familiarisation tour of his wing of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Shettima said he came on the instance of Osinbajo to exchange ideas on how to move the nation forward.

Shettima stated that he and the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu hope to hit the ground running from day one to ensure Nigerians feel the impact of their administration.

On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari conferred National Honours on Tinubu and Shettima.

Tinubu and Shettima were conferred with the National Honours of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) and Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON), respectively.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha who doubles as Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council also handed over the transition document to the duo ahead of the May 29 inauguration.
