President Buhari to award Oyo State’s Accord Party Gubernatorial Candidate

President Muhammadu Buhari will, on October 11, 2022, confer the National Award of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Adebayo Adelabu, the Accord Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State,
Reports state the Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Sen. George Akume, signed the conferment notice.
Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of Nigeria’s apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and 2019 gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, would join other prominent awardees found worthy of the National Honours by the Federal Government.

The award ceremony for the Oyo State financial expert would come up on the same day his gubernatorial campaign train ought to be flagged off.
The 2022 National Honour Award letter signed by the Minister reads: “I have the honour to inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the conferment of National honour on you in the rank of OFR, (Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic).
The investiture ceremony will hold at the International Conference Center, ICC, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 9 am.
