President Magufuli to be buried March 25

The late Tanzanian President John Magufuli is to be laid to rest today March 25 at his hometown Chato.

Wailing mourners filled the streets leading to his ancestral home, laying kangas on the road with some even throwing themselves on the ground.

Some waved tree branches while others knelt, carrying posters with the inscription ‘Shujaa wa Africa’ (Africa’s hero).

Former President Magufuli died of a heart disease at Mzena Hospital in Dar es Salaam on March 17 2021.
