President Tinubu Appoints DG , Others For SEC Board

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Mairiga Aliyu Katuka to serve as the Chairman Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The President also approved the nomination of Mr. Emomotimi Agama as the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

These appointments were made known on Friday in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngelale said that the President also approved the appointment of Franca Chukwuogor to serve as Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement), Mr. Bola Ajomale as executive Commissioner (Operations), and Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman as executive Commissioner (Corporate Services), all to serve on the board of SEC as Executive Commissioners.

Others appointed to serve as Non-Executive Commissioner are Mr. Lekan Bello —  and Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi.

The President’s Spokesperson added that President Tinubu expects that all the newly appointed members of the Board will bring to bear their competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, to bolster investor confidence and contribute positive growth to the nation’s economy.

The newly appointed Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission,

Mr Agama served as a Regional Executive member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK and Chairman Board of Trustees for Purity Rose Orphanage Home.
