President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers of several agencies under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
The newly approved appointments are in line with his resolve to base Nigeria’s economic revival on the foundation of trade expansion through small, medium and large-scale industry facilitation in the country.
In a directive issued by the President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, all the new appointees are expected to optimally deliver by new key performance indicating benchmarks as established by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
Top on the list of the appointees is Charles Odii, the President/Founder of SME100Africa. President Tinubu approved his nomination for the position of the Director General of the Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Dr. Rabiu Olowo, the 22nd Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, he is to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRCN, Rabiu Olowo.
The Nigerian Leader approved the nomination of Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC.
Also approved is the Managing Director of Signature Bank, Plc, Nonye Ayeni from one of the newly licensed commercial Banks in Nigeria, she is to head the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, NEPC.
Aisha Rimi, from Katsina State and the founding partner at Africa Law Practice, ALP, a commercial law firm in Nigeria was nominated to Head the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, NIPC.
Olufemi Ogunyemi was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority, NEPZA while Afiz Ogun Oluwatoyin was appointed to serve as the CEO of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF.
Also on the list of appointments is Kamar Bakrin. He is to Head the National Sugar Development Council, NSDC while Usman Bamanga Jada, a finance officer at the Energy Commission of Nigeria was nominated to head the Oil & Gas Free Zone Authority, OGFZA.
An investment analyst, Anthony Atuche, CFA was also nominated to Head the Nigeria Commodities Exchange, NCE.
Others are Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke nominated to Head the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Veronica Safiya Ndanusa appointed as the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, LITFCMB, Lucia Shittu recommended to manage the affairs of the Tafawa Balewa Square Management Board, TBSMB.
A hands-on consultant with expertise in risk management Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin was nominated to Head the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC.
Ngelale added that by the directive of the President, all of the above-listed appointments take immediate effect.
