Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has praised the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as a consummate statesman whose life has been devoted to service, leadership and nation-building, as he marks his birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the former member of the House of Representatives, two-time Senator and former Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his distinguished record in public service and his enduring commitment to Nigeria’s development.
President Tinubu recalled that Senator Kyari served with distinction as a Commissioner in Borno State, where he supervised multiple ministries, earning a reputation for rare versatility, competence and unwavering commitment to the public good.
Commending his performance in the current administration, the President praised the minister for bringing innovation and foresight to the agriculture sector under the Renewed Hope agenda.
“As a leading light in our Renewed Hope administration in charge of Agriculture and Food Security, you have brought innovation and foresight to the sector, championing mechanisation as a pathway to productivity, food security and economic resilience,” the President said.
He stated that through well-thought-out reforms and policies, Senator Kyari has contributed significantly to efforts to reduce food inflation, stabilising prices, strengthening agricultural value chains and repositioning agriculture as a viable and profitable enterprise.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the institutionalisation of systems that promote youth participation in agriculture, noting that these initiatives are now helping to nurture a new generation of Nigerians who now see farming as a sustainable means of livelihood.
The President prayed for continued health, renewed strength and enduring courage for the minister as he pursues his vision of food sufficiency for the nation.
