President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated the traditional ruler of Asaba, the Asagba of Asaba, in Delta state, Southern Nigeria, His Royal Majesty Professor Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, as he marks his 70th birthday.

He paid glowing tributes to the Traditional Ruler and described him as “a renaissance monarch who embodies knowledge, wisdom, grace, discipline, and cultural sophistication.”

In a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President joined the Azinge family, the Asaba Kingdom, and the people of Delta State in honouring the platinum jubilee of the revered traditional ruler, whom he hailed as one of Nigeria’s finest legal minds.

As the traditional ruler marks his 70th birthday, the President noted that Professor Azinge’s journey to the throne was marked by hard work, excellence, and distinguished national service.

He highlighted the monarch’s tenure as the fifth Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies from 2009 to 2014, as well as his representation of Nigeria and Africa at the Commonwealth Arbitral Tribunal in London.

President Tinubu commended the Asagba’s contributions to national development both in public service and private legal practice, praising his impact as a scholar, administrator, and traditional leader.

The President concluded his message with prayers, saying, “as he celebrates his platinum jubilee, I pray that God Almighty grant him many more years of good health and wisdom to continue providing sterling leadership to his people”.
