President Tinubu Celebrates Elderstateman Osoba On 85th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated his long-time ally, veteran journalist, elder statesman, and former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on the commemoration of his 85th birthday. 

Celebrating the two-time Governor of Ogun State in a congratulatory statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu lauded Chief Osoba’s commitment to progressive ideals and passion for Nigeria’s development.

The President also commended Chief Osoba for the publication of his book, Segun Osoba: “My Life in the Public Eye.”

He applauded the trust from his story particularly his achievements as a public servant.

President Tinubu added that this will inspire future leaders and members of the press to commit to consistently manifesting Chief Osoba’s core characteristics of integrity, accountability, doggedness, and hard work.

In the field of journalism, Chief Osoba began his career as a reporter and eventually ascended to the position of Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Times.

Chief Olusegun Osoba (born 15 July 1939) is a Nigerian journalist and politician who served twice as Governor of Ogun State first from 1992 to 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic and then from 1999 to 2003.
