President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his dedicated service to Nigeria, highlighting his dynamism, loyalty and crucial partnership that have significantly contributed to the administration’s success.
In a heartfelt, personally penned congratulatory message marking Vice President Kashim Shettima’s 59th birthday, President Tinubu praised his choice, affirming that in selecting Shettima as his partner, he entrusted Nigeria to a deputy of proven competence and unwavering qualities the nation can rely on.
The Nigerian leader emphasised that, as vice president, Senator Shettima has consistently validated his decision by enhancing teamwork, infusing innovative perspectives into governance, and steadfastly upholding their commitment to the Nigerian people.
The President underscored that Vice President Shettima’s unwavering dedication affirms beyond doubt that his choice of picking him as deputy was unequivocally the right one.
Recalling Shettima’s tenure as the democratically elected Governor of Borno State and Senator for Borno Central, the President recognised the Vice President’s leadership as one of service rather than privilege, demonstrated steadfastly despite challenges.
“However, your service to Nigeria, fueled by your passion for democracy, good governance, and economic development, has been even more remarkable.
“I deeply appreciate your vibrancy, loyalty, partnership, and support as my deputy. In choosing you then as a partner, I selected competence and other qualities that Nigeria could depend on.
“Every day, as vice president, you have justified that choice by strengthening our work, bringing fresh perspectives, and upholding our commitment to Nigerians. Your dedication reassures me that I did not make a mistake in choosing you as my deputy,” the president said.
Describing the vice president as a brother and co-traveller, the president noted that his relationship with Senator Shettima transcended official duties.
