President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated new facilities at the historic Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna, marking a major upgrade to worship and community infrastructure in the Ungwan Sarki area.

The commissioned projects include a modern ablution centre capable of serving 300 worshippers at once, 50 restrooms with VIP sections, and a 300,000-litre overhead water tank designed to provide a reliable water supply to both the mosque and the surrounding community.

Before the upgrade, the mosque relied on a small ablution area that struggled to accommodate the large crowds during Friday Juma’at prayers.

Site engineer Abba Mubashir said the project was executed to high quality standards.

“The ablution area is now spacious, and the 300,000-litre tank ensures a consistent water supply to both the mosque and the community,” he noted.

The Chief Ladan of Sultan Bello Mosque, Abdurrahman Abdulhamid said: “Now, we can accommodate 300 people for ablution at once, with 50 toilets, including VIP facilities.”

Residents of Ungwan Sarki welcomed the development, saying it has eased the area’s persistent water shortages.

President Tinubu, whose visit coincided with the wedding of former Zamfara governor Abdul’Aziz Yari’s son, said the project reflects a broader commitment to unity and the role of private sector players in addressing infrastructure challenges across Nigeria.
