President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently commissioned six completed projects at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State.
The projects were unveiled during the 19th Convocation Ceremony of the institution.
The projects include a Faculty of Social Sciences 700-seater Auditorium donated by Chief Benson Madubuko, a Student Hostel Type ‘D’ in Awka, a reconstructed Southern Boundary/Frontage Fence of the institution in Awka, a block of 20-room self-contained staff offices at the College of Medicine, NAUTH, Nnewi.
The unveiling of signage for Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah Medical Centre in Awka, a Tetfund sponsored Environmental Management Laboratory in Awka, and the foundation stone laying of the CEP Legacy Administrative Complex in Awka.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu, represented by former Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK and current Vice-Chancellor of African University of Science and Technology Abuja, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, commended the administration of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu for his vision in promoting teaching and research in the institution.
He called on staff and students to support the current administration in its quest of taking the institution to new heights.
The highlights of the event included the cutting of ribbons, unveiling of project signages, and a session of group photographs.
Among those present were the Chancellor, His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, the Pro-Chancellor, Barr. Monsur Olugbenga Kukoyi, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, and other principal officers of the University.
